2011 Clark County Fair Entertainment Preview
Things are starting to pick-up here in the office. Between parking passes and membership sales, open class entry forms (which are due June 30th…just saying), phones that don’t know how not to ring and the general busyness of pre-fair business, things are being kept pretty lively. And we know the more it picks up here in the office the closer we are to the start of the Clark County Fair, one of the best agricultural fairs in the state!
This year at the Clark County Fair “We’ve got a Good Thing Growing” from July 22-29. Not only will we continue to have a great showing from our Junior Fair livestock and miscellaneous entries, amazing support from our community and pretty awesome fair food, we will have some unbelievable talent coming to our fair including some great local acts!
This years’ awesome line-up of talent is kicked off with local county music artist Wyatt McCubbin on July 22 at 7:30pm. This 16 year old local boy from South Charleston may be young but his voice has a rich, traditional country tone. He has a voice that sounds like he should be singing along side classic country artists such as Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Sr. and Waylon Jennings which is probably why he was chosen to be part of the Waylon Jennings Tribute album. Search him, YouTube him, you won’t be disappointed with what you hear. Don’t miss out on this hometown talent!
On Saturday, July 23 we are very lucky to have ACM Award Nominee Lee Brice come to our Entertainment Tent at 8:00pm. He is best known for his single “Love Like Crazy”. If you haven’t heard it I’m guessing you have been living under a rock or don’t listen to country music. If the latter is the case then I’m going to suggest you start because you are missing out on a great new voice to the county music scene.
Sunday, July 24 we will be hosting Phil Dirt and the Dozers at 8:00pm at the Entertainment Tent . They are thenations premiere “Rock ‘N R’oldies” review playing music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music. I don’t know about you but I wasn’t even thought about during the eras of music these gentleman play but by virtue of my parents and grandparents I was exposed to music from everywhere and every era. I love this music and have heard Phil Dirt and the Dozers perform before and I have to say there show is just fun to watch and great to listen to.
To close out ou
r Entertainment Tent Talent on Friday, July 29 at 7:00pm we will have another local talent from New Carlisle, Ohio Kate Hastings. She was raised on her family farm and showed horses for 10 years and we are proud to have her back on the fairgrounds as part of our entertainment line-up. If you haven’t given her a listen before I would recommend searching her song “Boys That Drive Tractors” and giving that and her other songs a listen on her web-page.
Well, that is our 2011 Clark County Fair Entertainment Tent line up and after writing this, I truly can’t wait for the office to get busier because then I know we are getting closer to opening day and closer to welcoming all of this amazing talent to our fair.
See you at the fair!
